We work in 27 districts across Uganda and Kivu province in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

NORTHERN UGANDA

Social Protection, School-Based Interventions and Mental Health in Gulu, Lira, Kitgum, Otuke, Alebtong, Nwoya, Amur & Pader.

EASTERN UGANDA

HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care, Human Rights and Democratic Governance, Community-Managed Disaster Risk Reduction in Katakwi.

  • WEST NILE

Child Protection Systems Strengthening, Psychosocial support and school-based interventions in Koboko, Nebbi, Arua, Maracha, Yumbe, Kiryandongo, Moyo & Adjumani. The TPO Psychosocial Training Institute located in Arua district is home to most of our international & local training courses.

  • KARAMOJA SUB-REGION

Community-Based Child Protection Systems Strengthening in Amudat and Nakapiripirit; FGM & Sexual Violence Prevention in Amudat.

WESTERN AND SOUTH WESTERN UGANDA

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS

Regional Projects in DRC, Somalia & South Sudan

Since 2010, TPO Uganda has been implementing a child protection project that builds the capacity of community structures to deliver child protection and psychosocial support for children and families in conflict in South Kivu Province, Democratic Republic of Congo.

TPO Uganda has over the past seven years supported twelve grassroots organizations in Puntaland, South Central Zone and Somaliland to acquire essential skills and knowledge in emergency child protection and psycho-social support.

Knowledge Development

For more than 15 years, TPO Uganda has partnered with academic institutions to contribute to the body of knowledge in psychosocial support and child protection through its field experience learning and best practices.


This has helped us promote new ways of working –for example with existing community structures; and is strengthening evidence based learning throughout the country as we share these materials in the public domain offering open access.
